Obituary

Francisco B. "Papo" Gonzalez Mr. Francisco B. "Papo" Gonzalez, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 10, 2012, at the age of 85 surrounded by his family and friends. He was a caring and loving man who was affectionately known to his extended family as "Tio Pancho" and as "Papo" to all his friends. Mr. Gonzalez will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones. Mr. Gonzalez married the love of his life, Andrea P. Gonzalez who recently passed on November 27, 2012. They were blessed with a beautiful marriage and a strong commitment toward family. As soul mates, they are now forever united in the Kingdom of God. Mr. Gonzalez was a devout Catholic who attended St. Agustin Church all his life and served as an usher. He was also a sports aficionado who enjoyed watching all types of sports on television, attending local sporting events, and most important, he served as the pitcher for a local softball team up until the age of 65. Additionally, Mr. Gonzalez loved playing pool in his younger years. He was a hard working man who owned and operated Gonzalez Paint and Body Shop, and up until the very end, he was still active in his lifelong profession. He was known for his unconditional love toward family and friends, and great sense of spirituality. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Andrea P. Gonzalez, parents, Maria B. and Jose Gonzalez, his brothers and sisters, Jose Gonzalez, Eusebio Gonzalez, Candelario Gonzalez, Basilio Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Adelaida G. Flores and Blasita Gonzalez and a very special nephew, Jose A. (Choche) Flores, Jr. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his loving children, Francisco (Soledad) Gonzalez, Jr., Andrea Gonzalez, Jorge Gonzalez, San Juanita Gonzalez, Rita (Robert) Garcia, and Rosaura (Beto) Lara as well as by Concha Carrizales. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Aurelia L. Gonzalez, and numerous extended family members and friends. Mr. Gonzalez is further survived by 17 beautiful grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by 7 very special nephews and nieces, children of his sister, Adelaida G. Flores (deceased) and Jose Angel Flores, Sr. (deceased). They were raised together in a close-knit family, and were like his second family. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Benson Huang, Dr. Joseph Camero, St. Jude Specialty Home Health and Bronze Star Ambulance Services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 8 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Agustin Cathedral. Committal services and interment will then follow the service in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
