Obituary

FRANCISCO RAMOS, 78, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Ramos was entered into eternal rest Friday, August 15, 2014 after an 8 month battle with liver cancer. He died peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side. Mr. Ramos is preceded in death by his Daughter, Maria Isabel Ramos Perez. Brothers, Alonso Ramos and Manuel Ramos Jr. Parents, Manuel and Catalina ramos. Mr. Ramos was born in Dolores, Texas " Las Minas". He was the product of migrant farm workers and learned an excellent work ethic at a very young age. As a legacy he left his children the importance of an honest living and the satisfaction of earning your keep by employing your own two hands. Mr. Ramos was the provider to 13 children having as many as 3 jobs at one time at Sheffield, John Deere and soon after became a professional test driver for Uniroyal-Good rich tire company, where he retired after 27 years! His hard work earned him a highly coveted award into the "The Two Million Mile Club" and earned him a spot in the N.S.C. Hall of Fame in Chicago, ILL. Mr. Ramos was very active politically. He would have Fundraisers at his home for his favorite city Councilman, Judge, ect. He was a very good friend and would not only help his friends but also complete strangers. Mr.Ramos was a carpenter a mechanic, a painter, a driver a jack of all trades. Mr. Ramos also loved life, his children, grandchildren. He loved to dance and if there was music playing, there was pancho, cutting a rug! His signature more was Elvis Blue Suede, Shoes jig. Mr. Ramos was a tough man who loved just as strong as he fought. To the love of his life, Maria, he would proudly profess, "Te quise, te quiero y te vuevo a querer!" he will be deeply, deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years of marriage Maria L. Ramos. Sons and Daughters, Diana I. Ramos, Francisco ( Sylvia ) Ramos Jr., Andres (Kathy) Ramos, Reynaldo ( Pat ) Ramos, Esmeralda Ramos, Blanca E. ( John ) Stevenson, Ruby Y. Ramos, Rolando Ramos, Dolores (Ron) Gaylord, Carlos R. ( Jessica) Ramos, Virginia Ramos and Margaret ( Michael) Boswell. 20 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren. Brother and Sister, Dolores Kaml and Jose Maria Ramos. Also surviving him are numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Eastside Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
