FRANCISCO JAVIER SANCHEZ
Francisco Javier Sanchez, 82, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Mr. Sanchez was born in Laredo, Texas to Francisco C. Sánchez and Diamantina M. Sánchez on September 13, 1939 and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a medic and was Honorably Discharged in 1968. He was duly awarded with the Good Conduct Medal. He graduated from Texas A & I with an Accounting degree that was put to work with USDA as an Auditor until retirement in 2001. He continued to serve his civic duty as an Early Voting and Election Day Presiding Judge for 8 years. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco C. and Diamantina Sanchez.
His beloved wife, Hilda G. Sanchez.
Brother, Oscar R. Sanchez.
Sister, Tina S. Cruz.
Brothers-in-Law, Humberto Villarreal Jr., Jorge Jimenez and Guillermo Cruz.
He is survived by his children, Francisco J. Sanchez Jr., Selina A. Castillo and Dr. James A. (Andrea) Sanchez.
3 grandchildren-Devi K. Bazan, Lexie M. Sanchez and Michael J. Sanchez.
Sisters, Mirna N. Sanchez, Diana E. Villarreal and Sandra S. Jimenez.
Brother, Gabriel (Nora) Sanchez.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a song tributes will commence at 6:30 performed by Mr. Manuel Degollado and Vigil of the Deceased will be officiated by Deacon Henry Mejia at 7:00 pm in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery. Full military honors and flag presentation will be provided by the Laredo Veteran's Honor Guard.
