Obituary

FRANCISCO CORTEZ SR.
1937-2022
Born on June 16, 1937, Mr. Cortez died on February 9, 2022, at the age of 84.
He was the owner and manager of Cortez Welding Shop.
He was preceded in death by his son, Martin G. Cortez.
Parents, Santos and Seferino Cortez.
Brother, Angel Cortez.
Survivors include his former wife, Catalina T. Reyna.
Sons and daughters, Sandra (Jose Jimenez), Aurora (Nicolas Mitchell, Jose L. (Geraldine) Cortez, Juan F. (Melissa) Cortez, Humberto A. Cortez, Jesus J. Cortez and Omar Cortez.
24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Siblings, Guadalupe (David) Guerrero, Jose Felix Cortez and Angel Cortez.
Also surviving are numerous nephews, nieces, and many friends.
A private service was officiated by Pastor Dorso Maciel of Primera Iglesia Bautista.
The Cortez, Jimenez and Mitchell Families wish to thank all the hero physicians and surgeons, who lovingly assisted our loved one during his sickness. And all the nurses and assistants of Laredo Medical Center and Doctor's Hospital. Also to Del Alma Home Health Services. Special thanks and respect to our beloved Yolanda Mendoza for her love and patience in caring for our father. Thanks to Texas provider Care, Staff and management of Las Alturas Nursing home, during his last days.
Cremation and funeral services were entrusted to Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St., Laredo, Texas .
