GENARO ERNESTO VALDEZ

Genaro Ernesto Valdez, 93, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Mr. Valdez was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Petra Valdez.

Sons, Genaro E. Valdez III, Gerardo Valdez, Gabriel Valdez, Gilbert Valdez and Gilbert "Mable" Valdez.

Daughter, Graciela "Gracie" Valdez.

He is survived by his children, Gloria (Martin†) Garcia, Babriella (Ruben†) Pineda, George Valdez, Grabiel (Mari) Valdez, Gilda Valdez and Glenn (Joanna) Valdez.

25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Daughters-in-law, Patricia Valdez and Melissa Valdez.

Siblings, Juan Lizcano, Modesto (Patsy) Lizcano and Frances Olivarez.

Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many  friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. A religious service, officiated by Pastor Hector Patiño, will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
