GREGORIO ORTIZ

Our father Gregorio Ortiz passed away at the age of 77 on Saturday August 27, 2022, in Tomball, Texas, surrounded by his immediate family. Our father was born in Laredo, Texas, November 3 ^rd, 1944. During his younger years, he worked as a Livestock Hauling truck driver. A few years ago, he moved to Tomball to be closer with his son and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Ortiz and Marcelina R. Ortiz, sister; Socorro Lund, brother; Jesus Ortiz and nephew; Jesus A. Ortiz III.

He is survived by his beloved wife, of fifty-seven years, Gloria M. Ortiz, daughter; Gloria A. ( Jorge) Castillo, son; Gregorio (Araceli) Ortiz Jr. grandchildren, Gregorio Ortiz III, Jorge Castillo Jr., David Harley (Emillie De Leon) Ortiz and Ricardo Daniel (Amanda) Ortiz, great-grandchild, Penelope Jean Ortiz, Sisters, Juanita (William) Walls and Marcelina Varner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will be receiving condolences on Friday, September 2 ^nd, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being held at 7:00 p.m. at Hernandez-Lopez & Sons Funeral Chapel, on 800 Boston Street.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 3 ^rd, departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were:  Johnny J. Delgado, Ricardo Martinez Jr., Manuel Martinez III, Mark Anthony Martinez, Gregorio Ortiz III, Jorge Castillo Jr., David Harley Ortiz and Ricardo Daniel Ortiz.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ricardo Martinez Sr., Juan J. Delgado, Manuel Martinez Sr., Rolando Alaniz, Ramiro Lopez and Pedro Martinez.
