GUADALUPE CASTILLO JR.

Guadalupe Castillo Jr., 94, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at a local hospital.

Mr. Castillo was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident.

He was a very hard worker, businessman, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a devoted member of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Romana Castillo.

Beloved wife, Maria Santos Castillo.

Daughter, Mary Castillo.

Sons, Eduardo Castillo, Jose Jorge Castillo and Raul Castillo.

Brothers, Jesus Castillo, Luis Castillo, Juan Castillo and Roberto Castillo.

Sisters, Margarita Guerrero and Tomasa Barrientos.

He is survived by his children, Oscar (Rosa Maria) Castillo, Mario (Maria Candelaria) Castillo, Angel Castillo, San Juanita (Roy) Gutierrez, Rosa Castillo, Javier (Norma E.) Castillo, Margarita Castillo, Sergio Castillo, David (Gloria) Castillo, Belinda (Adolfo) Garcia and Lina Castillo.

Daughters-in-law, Gloria Velasquez and Janie Castillo.

35 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Brother, Francisco (Esperanza) Castillo.

Step-sister, Jacinta Cadena.

Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.

Family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to his caregiver, Olaya Hernandez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
