GUADALUPE "GUADA" DE LA GARZA JR. Guadalupe "Guada" De La Garza, Jr., 58, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. De La Garza was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He also enjoyed playing softball here in his hometown of Laredo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe De La Garza and Cruz Hernandez De La Garza. Nephews, Marco Antonio Lopez and Carlos Javier Lopez. He is survived by his siblings, Maria Cecilia "Cissy" Tellez, Melissa (Pedro) Medellin, Alma (Roberto) Lopez, Guadalupe (Gustavo) Galo, Norma Barrientos and Bernardo (Nora) De La Garza. Numerous nephews and nieces, Gabriel Tellez, Roberto Lopez, Jr., Jose Orlando Lopez, Luis Alberto Lopez, Antonio Jimenez, Jr., Melissa Jimenez, Roxana Ramirez, Deborah Jimenez, Kimberly Medellin, Jonathon Medellin, Gilda Zamora, Gina Galo, Gabby Galo, Jackie Amador, Norma Rodriguez, Viridiana Barrientos, Charlene Rodriguez, Mari Cruz De La Garza, Emilio De La Garza, Maricela De La Garza, Gabriela De La Garza, Veronica De La Garza, Alma De La Garza and Laura De La Garza. Also surviving him are other relatives and and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St., at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
