GUADALUPE PEREZ
Lupita was born on December 6, 1950 in Sabinas, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Mexico. Lupita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend who left this world peacefully at the age of 75. With heavy hearts and plenty of stories that somehow still make us laugh, we remember Lupita. Lupita was a source of strength and support for her family throughout her life. No matter what challenges came her way, she faced them with resilience, determination, and often a joke that somehow made everything feel lighter. To know Lupita was to know laughter. She loved making people laugh and had a sense of humor that could turn an ordinary moment into a memory people would retell for years. She was also an incredible cook — though following one of her recipes required faith, intuition, and possibly divine intervention. Her instructions usually included phrases like “unos cuantos tomates” or “echale un puñito de sal”. Measurements were considered optional in Lupita’s kitchen, yet somehow every dish came out perfect. While no one may ever recreate her meals exactly the way she made them, her family will keep trying — probably arguing over whether she meant “3 or 5 tomates” or what “tantito mas is” — and in doing so, they will keep her spirit alive at every family gathering. Lupita leaves behind a family who adored her, countless memories filled with laughter, and a legacy of love, strength, and very questionable recipe documentation. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered. Lupita is preceded in death by the love of her life, Carlos Perez, her parents Jose Thomas and Maria Garza and brother Thomas Garza. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Carlos (Gloria) Perez, Tania Perez, Jose Thomas (Cristina) Perez, Luis (Nina) Perez and Miguel (Mary Jo) Perez. Her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Amanda, Cecilia, Sofia, Carla, Sara, Carlos, Kasey, Adam, Madison, Mackenzie, Mae, Mila and Camile. Her great-grandchildren Julian, Dario, Catarina and Fidel. Siblings Olga, Josefa, Mireya, Sylvia, Chela and Mario. Lupita will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
