Obituary

GUADALUPE F. RAMOS Mrs. Guadalupe F. Ramos entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2013 at the age of 85. She was a dedicated and devoted wife, beloved mother, loving grandmother, affectionate great-grandmother, and wonderful friend. Lovingly called "Wela" by her close friends and family, she was considered a neighborhood icon after having lived in the same house for many years. She will be remembered for her tender ways, strong will, bright smile, and contagious laughter. Guadalupe always considered her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to be her greatest legacy. Mrs. Ramos is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Flores and Florencia Lopez, and her brother Jose Flores Jr. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jose Guadalupe "Welo" Ramos, her 5 children: Bertha (Julian) Pea, Olga (David C.) Alvarado, Joe G. (Ruth) Ramos Jr., Jose A. (Sandra) Ramos, and Raul (Griselda) Ramos, 14 grandchildren: Diana Pea Galindo, Eliza Pea, Elsa Pea (Rene) Rodriguez, Christina Pea (Alfonso) Vazquez, Bertha Nieto (Jaime Carmona), Cynthia Ramos, Veronica (David) Perez, Joe G. Ramos III, Melissa Ramos, Jose A. (Jessica) Ramos Jr., Alejandro Ramos, Raul Ramos Jr., Roel Ramos, and Armando Ramos, 11 great-grandchildren, and countless friends and relatives. Mrs. Ramos' favorite color was lavender. The family invites you to honor her memory by wearing clothing with a touch of lavender. Pallbearers will be: Jose A. Ramos Jr., Alejandro Ramos, Joe G. Ramos III, Roberto Julian Pea, Raul Ramos Jr., and David C. Alvarado. Honorary pallbearers will be: Roel Ramos, Armando Ramos, David Perez, Jared Perez, Kassy Ramos, Julian Pea, Joe Galindo, and Jaime Carmona. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery-Veteran's Section.
