Obituary

MRS. GUADALUPE I. SERNA
Guadalupe I. Serna, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Laredo, Texas.
Mrs. Serna was born on February 7, 1925 in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leopoldo Hilario Serna Sr.
Parents, Francisco and Guadalupe Ibarra.
In-Laws, Jose and Jacinta Serna.
Sisters, Alejandra Ortegon and Francis Alejandro.
Brother, Ernesto Ibarra.
Grandchildren, Manuel Grajeda III, Jorge Moncivais Jr., Guadalupe Melendez and Celina Serna.
She is survived by her children, Jesus A. (Bertha) Serna, Leopoldo (Juana) Serna, Maria Magdalena (Felipe) Melendez, Patricia (Jorge+) Moncivais, Victor (Susana) Serna, Javier  Serna, Ernesto (Estela) Serna, Maria G.(Rudy) Benavides, Maria A. (Juan) Cantu, Blanca (Roberto) Cantu, Yolanda (Candelario+) Garza and Delia (Angel) De Leon.
37 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving her are numerous nephews, nieces,other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Southside Chapels, Loop 20 and Zapata Highway. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
