MRS. GUADALUPE M. TIJERINA AUGUST 24, 1919 - FEBRUARY 15, 2012 Mrs. Guadalupe M. Tijerina, 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at a local hospital. Mrs. Tijerina was born in Encinal, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo for most of her life. She is survived by her loving daughters, Amada Villarreal, Adelfa Tijerina, Anita (Filiberto) Mendiola and Adela T. (Isaac) Amaro Jr. Daughter-in-Law, Maria Tijerina. Raised 2 Sons & 1 Daughter, Isaac Villarreal III, Melissa Amaro and Alberto Estrada. Also surviving her are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. The Tijerina family wishes to extend their heartfelt graditute to Alma "Mi Gorda" Amaro, Melinda Amaro and niece who was always by her side Margarita Solis and also Laura and Carlos Lopez for taking care of her. A special gratitude to Dr. Milton Haber for taking care of her during her illness. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Liturgy of the Word officiatted by Deacon Jerry Morales will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, February 17, 2012 held in the funeral home chapel. The services will depart immediately after the service. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
