Heriberto H. Byrd
The sun rose and the sun set, as it does every twenty four hours, life meanders but a few moments in time. Today we celebrate the life of Heriberto H. Byrd, of Laredo, Texas. A pillar member of the community, his sunrise was on September 19, 1934 his sunset was on September 24, 2020. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve from January 1953 to December 1960 and received an honorable discharge in December 1960. Mr. Byrd was a kind and loving man who retired as a school bus driver from LISD with 30+ years of service. In his retirement Mr. Byrd avidly enjoyed dominoes, poker, horse races and the infamous "maquinitas" and always had a scratch-off at hand.
He is preceded in death by his parents Isabel Tristan and Elijah Byrd (solider killed in action) and brothers Salvador Hernandez (soldier killed in action), and Samuel Byrd.
He is survived by his wife Maria Catalina Byrd. Daughter, Sandra Byrd-Chavez from previous marriage and husband Osvaldo A. Chavez. Daughter, Sara Byrd Moreno and husband Ramiro R. Moreno, Jr. Son, Heriberto H. Byrd Jr. and Son, Humberto L. Byrd. His brother Jonnie P. Byrd and wife Aida N. Byrd and nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren in order by age: Allison Rubi Byrd, Twins Renata Kassandra Byrd and Renato Eduardo Byrd, Alyssa Byrd, Eduardo Byrd, Twins Olivia Anaiis Chavez and Julian Gabriel Chavez.
Our father will be fondly remembered by all the memories he leaves behind to his family and friends.
