HERMILA VALDEZ Hermila Valdez, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at a local hospital. Mrs.Valdez was born in Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. Hermila Valdez is survived by her loving husband of 53 years of marriage, Luis Eduardo Valdez and her three sons, Luis (Alma) Valdez, Luis Ricardo (Amy) Valdez and Luis Eduardo (Sandra) Valdez, Jr. She was also blessed with six grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Alma Kristela "AK" Valdez, Luis Valdez Jr., Brandon Valdez, Andrew Valdez, Brianna Valdez and Bianca Valdez. The Valdez family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to those medical professionals who helped in her care: Friendly Home Health Agency, nurse Eric Cardenas, Dr. Carlos Hornedo, and Dr. Pedro Diaz Santana. Additionally, the family wishes to acknowledge Doctors Hospital of Laredo for the excellent service and attention given to Hermila. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
