HERMINIA PENA Herminia Rangel Pena, 72, passed into the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Laredo, Tx. Herminia was born April 26, 1941, in Corsicana, Texas, and raised in Wichita Falls, Tx. Herminia attended public school there and since very early adulthood worked mainly in laundry and dry cleaning in order to support her children. Herminia met her future husband Alberto, who was stationed as an airman at Sheppard AFB, in November 1967 and eventually married in December 1976. Herminia is predeceased by her parents Juan and Martha Rangel and by her eldest son Danny Rangel. Also siblings Martina, Frank, Jessie, Ray, Ernest Rangel. She is survived by her husband Alberto and her daughters Christine Greensweight, Diane Prince(Carlos), Lisa Diaz, and Rachel Palacios (Richard). Also her sons Henry Rangel (Norma), and Ronnie Diaz (Levora), and Alberto Pena III(Linda). Also surviving are her sisters Mary Flores(Lupe) and Mary Katich (Leonard). Her brothers George (Josie), Louise, and Ramon of Abilene, Tx. Also surviving is her cousin Lupe Orona Sanders; Sister-in-law Delores and Esther. Aslo surviving are 36 grandchildren, and 81 great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters-in-Law, Antonio Pena of Dallas, Texas, Aurora Sauceda (Victor), Alfredo Pena (Arcelia), Cresencio Pena (Rosario) and Berta Ramirez (Homero). Herminia was the type of person that would always lend a caring ear to anyone that needed comfort. She had such patience and understanding to young and old alike. Family and close friends will really miss that. She was indeed a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
