HORTENCIA FUNES
Hortencia Funes, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.
Mrs. Funes was born in Fort Madison, Iowa and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucio and Gregoria Cantu.
Son, Gerardo Funes.
Sisters, Ofelia Gonzalez and Estela Ruiz.
Brothers, Juan Gonzalez and Margarito Gonzalez.
Grandson, Michael Angelo Funes.
She is survived by her
Children, Jose Victor (Maricela) Funes, Jose Gilberto (Dora) Funes, Alfredo Funes, Maria Del Rosario Funes, Hermelinda Camara, Dora (Orlando) Charles, Gaudencio Funes, Mary Esther Funes and Maria (Jose Alberto) Parada.
21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 25 % of capacity inside our funeral home.
It is preferred that minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m.on June 6, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
