HORTENCIA L. SANCHEZ Hortencia L. Sanchez, 95, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Sanchez was born in Islitas, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul Sanchez who passed away on November 14, 1983. Son, Raul H. Sanchez. Parents, Antonio and Antonia Lerma. Brothers and Sisters, Guadalupe Flores, Alberto Lerma, Alfonso Lerma, Antonio Lerma Jr., Amando H. Lerma and Rafaela Garcia. She is survived by her children, Anselmo Sanchez, Humberto (Cecilia) Sanchez, Nydia (Guadalupe, dec'd) Gutierrez, Fernando (Severita) Sanchez, Juan Manuel (Estela) Sanchez, Gabriel (Teresa) Sanchez, Hortencia (Reyes) Herrera and Yolanda (Raul) Uscanga. Daughter-in-Law, Maria Elena Sanchez. 42 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Also Brothers and Sisters and other relatives, Mayla Sanchez and Josefina Sanchez. Special Care Taker, Panchis Gonzalez. Also numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
