IMELDA PONCE Imelda Ponce, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in a San Antonio, Texas hospice. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Hebbronville, Texas to Cocilia Benavides and Willie "O" Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her parents; Cocilia and Willie "O" Gonzalez, her husband, Jesus Jorge Ponce Sr. and her son, Carlos Fortino Ponce. Imelda is survived by her children, Jesus Jorge (Melissa) Ponce Jr., Manuel Willie Ponce, Samuel (Blanca) Ponce, Gerardo (Rebecca) Ponce, Francisco Ponce, Olga (Eduardo) Juarez and Norma Ponce. Grandchildren, Armando (Nancy) Ponce, Andrew (Elysha) Ponce, Sharon (Kenneth) McKinney, Erica (Abraham) Espinoza, Nora Lydia Juarez, Dora Alicia Juarez, Nicholas Antonio Ponce, Coleman Shea Ponce, Zane Mason Ponce, Sean Conner Ponce, Matthew T. Ponce and Jorge Ponce Jr. Great-grandchildren, Marco Andres Ponce, Zachary Carlos Juarez, America Espinoza, Maricruz Espinoza, Abigal Espinoza, Melissa McKinney, Kelley McKinney, Anthoney Ponce and Armando Jesus Ponce. Sister, Olga Montalvo. Nephews, Abel Montalvo, Hector Montalvo and Tony Montalvo. Imelda was a direct descendent of the late Placido Benavides, founder of Benavides, Texas. She was a member of Christ the King Parish in Laredo, Texas. Our mother was a devoted wife and wonderful humorous mother who lives forever in our hearts. Special thanks to Dr. Oscar Lightner, Dr. Armando Hinojosa, Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, Meridian Nursing home and staff, Hebbronville, Texas, Gilda Montalvo R.N. and the San Antonio Vitas Hospice Center. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 from the 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7:00 p.m in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery
