IMELDA ESTELA TIJERINA LEYENDECKER OCTOBER 27, 1930 - JULY 28, 2014 Imelda Estela Tijerina Leyendecker, 83, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Leyendecker was a devoted wife and loving mother. A woman dedicated whole heartedly to the role of homemaker all her life. She led a good life alongside her husband of 55 years. Her battle with alzheimer's disease was fought with valor and dignity and those who were at her side know that it was a most difficult journey. "Ime" shall be missed by those of us who loved her unconditionally, but she is blessed to be going home to our Lord. She is preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband; Boniface J. Leyendecker, III., and her dear son; Boniface J. Leyendecker, IV. Parents, Julian and Susana Tijerina. Sister, Eulalia Guzman. Brother, Julian Tijerina. She is survived by daughter; Ceci Leyendecker. Sons; George Alexander (Sandra) Leyendecker and Patrick Joseph (Mari) Leyendecker. Grandchildren, Teresa and Carlos Gutierrez, Juan, Imeldita and Matieu Leyendecker, George James Leyendecker, Irene and Naomi Leyendecker. Great-grandchildren, George, Zoe, Ashley, Jeremy and Andrew Gutierrez. Brothers, Arturo (Gabriela) Tijerina and Jorge (Leticia) Tijerina. Sisters, Alicia (Arnoldo, dec'd) Silva and Susana (Fred) Yguerabide. Also surviving her are numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
