Obituary

IRMA G. HERRERA
Irma G. Herrera, 62, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Herrera was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Laredo Martin High in 1976. She was a member of the Mighty Martin High School Band. She was very proud to be part of the band, which qualified for sweepstakes in 1976. In 1985, she met her future husband, Rogelio Herrera, while working at Gamez Grocery Store. She went on to work for Webb County, as a Supervisor, for the Adult Probation Department. In 1989, she retired and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Irma (Mimi) helped people even if she didn't know them. Her favorite past time was going to the Casino in Eagle Pass, hitting a couple of jackpots and teaching her niece and nephew, Mary and Marcos rock-n-roll. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her father, Miguel Marcos Gamez.
Son, Israel Herrera.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rogelio Herrera.
Children, Rogelio (Monica) Herrera Jr. and Roberto Carlos Herrera.
Grandchildren, Rogelio Herrera III, Vicente Trinidad Herrera, Brandy Herrera and Robert Herrera Jr.
Mother, Elma S. Gamez.
Sister, Elma Guadalupe (Hector) Chapa.
Brother, Juan (Cecilia) Gamez, Miguel (Gabriela) Gamez, Fernando (Cleotilde) Gamez and Mario (Gabriela) Gamez.
Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends.
The Family would like to offer a special "Thank You" to Doctor's Hospital, Dr. J. R. Garcia, Dr. Arthur Santos, Dr. Rafael Deliz, all the ICU Nurses, Ruben Quintana, Physical Therapist, Luis Raya and the Staff at Med I Unit.
In compliance with City Orders by the Mayor of the City of Laredo, a private Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
