JERRY MITCHELL Jerry Mitchell, 62, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at a local hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He served with the US Navy from 1972 to 1978. He is preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Maria Mitchell. Brothers, Nicolas G. Mitchell and Gerardo Mitchell. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Mitchell. Brothers and sisters, George (Olivia) Mitchell, Hector (Hermelinda) Mitchell, Dora (Tomas) Diaz, Dolores (Dennis) Garcia, Melissa Mitchell and Ricardo Nieto. Also surviving him are nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. There will be no procession from the funeral home chapel, everyone to meet at church on Friday, April 17, 2015. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
