Jesus Avila Jr.'s Obituary

JESUS AVILA JR.

Jesus Avila Jr., 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Mr. Avila was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Avila.

Father, Jesus Avila.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years of marriage, Vicenta Avila.

Children, Laura (Juan Carlos) Escalera, Norma Avila (Jose Esparza), Gilberto Avila, Arturo Avila and Barbara Y. Avila.

Grandchildren, Lesley A. Escalera, Laura A. Escalera, Juan Carlos Escalera Jr., Armando G. Esparza, Gilberto Avila Jr., Abby A. Avila, Amber N. Avila, Jesus E. Avila, Genesis Avila, Arturo Avila Jr., Brianna Avila and Mia Isabel Avila.

Great grandson, Dexter David Avila.

Siblings, Ramon (Francis) Avila, Lilia Isabel (Armando) Robles, Miguel (Rosa) Avila and Margarita L. Avila.

Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 10, 2024 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed a the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Arturo Avila, Gilberto Avila, Juan Escalera, Amando Esparza, Jesus Eduardo Avila, William Acosta, Miguel Avila, Armando Robles and Ramon Avila.
