Obituary

JESUS "JESSE" C. GARCIA
Jesus "Jesse" C. Garcia, 95, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Garcia was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Army, from April, 1941 until his Honorable Discharge in November, 1945, and he was deployed with the Detachment "A" Delta Base Section, Infantry, during Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns.
He received numerous citations and decorations that included the European African Medal, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the American Defense Medal. He then reenlisted with the United States Army, for his second term, from November 1945 until being Honorably Discharged in March, 1947. He was deployed with the Sqdn SB 4505th AAA BU (Tng), in which he served as a Guard Patrolman 522, earning the World War II Victory Medal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marciano and Juana Garcia.
Brothers, Victoriano Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Jose Garcia and Raul Garcia.
Sisters, Maria Guerrero, Dora Taylor and Julia Garcia.
He is survived by his loving wife,of over 65 years of marriage, Maria F. Garcia.
Children, Esther Martinez, Elsa G. Flores, Elisa Cortez, Erminia Molina, Elia "Ellie" Herrera (Octavio Bernal+), Edward Rudy (Laura) Garcia and Eloisa Casso.
24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Hilda (Ralph) Ponce.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, January,5, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
