Obituary

JESUS DOMINGUEZ

Jesus "Chuy" Dominguez took his walk from earth on February 28, 2017, after a bold long battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

A long time resident of Laredo, "Chuy" was well-known to his neighbors in El Catorce, where he ran his auto repair shop " Chuy's Auto Service"  for decades, whom he had inherited from its previous owner, Salvador Torres. An expert in his field, Chuy was often called upon to diagnose car problems too evasive for others to solve; he was never too busy to help or offer advice. Troubleshooting mechanical problems was not his only specialty, as he could be counted on to voice frank and honest opinions from an unassuming perspective. A man of generous nature, Chuy supported those nearest to him in the best ways he could, never demanding anything in return, and he made numerous donations to various charities, school programs, and other fundraising efforts.

Chuy's affection extended to many, including four legged-creatures, of which small dogs were his favorite. He also liked birds and enjoyed bird-watching, often spotting and identifying birds both in flight and at rest. In his final days, he found comfort sitting outside his other  home in San Antonio , watching and occasionally feeding the ducks and swans at a neighboring pond, noting distinctions between them and even naming its most frequent visitors.

He will be missed by  his family, his friends, his clients and his Shop Family, who think of him often and will remember him well.
