JOAQUIN FELIPE GONZALEZ
Joaquin Felipe Gonzalez, 68, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Gonzalez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident. He was a very proud 1976 graduate, of the University of Michigan. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree, in History and Spanish, he then worked as a Special Education Teacher, with LISD, for over 35 years, until his retirement. He was a also a veteran, having served in the US Army, as a Cook. He loved sports and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His family will dearly miss all the good times they shared with him and will always hold these memories dearly in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Adan Gonzalez and Maria De La Luz Gonzalez.
Sister, Maria De Lourdes Gonzalez.
Brother, Jose Adan Gonzalez Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 40 years of marriage, Blanca Nery Gonzalez.
Children, Blanca Nery Gonzalez, Joaquin Felipe Gonzalez Jr. and Jorge Alberto Gonzalez.
Grandchildren, Jaqueline Ashley Gonzalez, Kassandra Michelle Gonzalez and Alexandra Nicole Gonzalez.
Sister, Ana Raquel (Eduardo) Herrera.
Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
