JOHN ALLEN WALKER SR.
John Allen Walker Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at a local hospital.
Mr. Walker Sr., was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
He was a veteran who served for 20 years in the United States Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (Unit), Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal (4 Awards) and the Army Commendation Medal.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo Walker.
Grandparents, Capt. Walker and Enriqueta Walker.
Uncles, Cesar Walker, Albino Walker Sr., Servando Walker and Pedro Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years of marriage, Rosario T. Walker.
Children, Rosario Lynn (Miguel) Ruiz Jr., John (Norma) Walker Jr., Cynthia Gale (Gerardo) Flores and James C. (Brandy) Walker.
13 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott), Mike III, Roel Jr., Alexander, Bryan, Abigail, Ethan, Emily, Sophia, Christina, Christopher, Jonas and Warren.
3 Great-grandchildren, Destiny, Marissa and Scottie.
Brother, Richard C. Walker.
Sister, Constance Martinez.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
The family would like thank Dr. Luis Benavides and the Nurses and Staff at Doctors Hospital's 4th floor for their compassion and care.
The family would also like to offer a special "Thank You" to Gabriel Martinez and Judy Gonzalez for the special attention they gave to him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery–Veteran's Section.
