JOSE D. GARZA Jose D. Garza, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Jose D. Garza was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a resident all of his life. He was a painter by trade with a family based group of professional painters in the late 1940's thru 1980's. Jose loved to paint with his uncle and brother Chuy. Jose loved to walk for miles upon end in the streets of Laredo. He was also a friendly and kind person who loved to say hello and shake your hand. Jose was a Veteran but most important he always took care of his mother and sisters. He was loved and taken good care of by his eldest nephew's family. We will always love our Uncle Joe and know God has him in the palm of our Lord's hand. Jose will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Garza is preceded in death by parents Santos and Dora R. Garza. Brother, Jesus Garza Eldest Nephew, Jesus Fernando Garza He is survived by his sister Alicia Castillo. Also surviving are his nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will departing at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 from the funeral chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
