Jose Efrain Elizondo's Obituary
JOSE EFRAIN ELIZONDO
Jose Efrain Elizondo, 95, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Elizondo was born in Laredo and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a Sharpshooter during the Combat at Iwo Jima, during WWII, in Company A- 147th Infantry and duly decorated with the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Matias Elizondo and Gregoria Allen Elizondo.
Brothers, Matias Elizondo Jr., Leopoldo Elizondo, Francisco Elizondo, Benito Elizondo and Margarito Elizondo.
First wife, Esperanza G. Elizondo.
He is survived by his loving spouse, of over 45 years of marriage, Graciela P. Garcia.
Son, Jose Elizondo Jr.
Daughters, Sandra Elizondo and Cindy (Juan) Flores.
Grandchildren, Juan Riojas Jr., Christina (Greg) De La Cruz, David (Janette) Flores, Joseph (Jeanna) Elizondo and Joshua (Jackie) Elizondo.
Great grandchildren, Alynah Rodriguez, Megan Rodriguez, Emma Sophia Riojas, James Elizondo and Jeremiah Elizondo.
Also surviving him are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
