JOSE ERASMO GONZALEZ

Jose Erasmo González, 78, of Laredo, passed away on Friday morning, September 13,
2024.
Jose Erasmo is known to his family and friends as Joe, Grandpa Joe and/or Papi Joe.
He was born May 5, 1946 "Cinco de Mayo" in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas Mexico and
was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.

He was married to the love of his life for 55 years Blanca Irma González and was loved
and cherished by his entire family.
Jose Erasmo was a hardworking man, gifted electrician who owned his own company
"Joe's Electric", devoted husband, the best father anyone could have and a wonderful,
funny grandfather (Papi Joe), great son, brother, uncle and beloved friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his son Enrique González, his parents Jose González
Torres and Maria Torres Ramos, and his sister Josefina González de Almanza.
He is survived by his wife Blanca Irma González, his daughter Dolores G. (Cal) Smith,
his son Erasmo A. (Lizzy) González, his daughter Hilda Quintanilla, his daughter Blanca
I. (Jose) Cordova and his son Miguel E. (Mayra) González.
Grandchildren: Kaela (Tim) O'Leary, Erasmo A. (Andrea) González, II, Allen Acosta,
Kathy Cordova, Andy Acosta, Dominique Quintanilla, Jacqueline Quintanilla, Julian
(Monica) González, Enrique González, Jonathan González, Joe Anthony Cordova,
Andrea S. Cordova, Abigail Acosta, Travis G. Smith and Sofia E. Smith.
Great grandchildren: Erasmo A. González, III, Camila A. González, Anasofia E.
González and Baby Paredes.
Grandpa Joe was passionate about the people and things that mattered to him. He
loved baseball, played Loteria, made silly jokes and extended a helping hand to anyone
who needed it. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 4-9pm.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 departing from the
Hernandez Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.
Mass was held at Christ The King Church located at 1105 Tilden, Laredo, Texas
78040. Burial was held at the Catholic Cemetery immediately following
mass.
