JOSE FUNES

Jose Funes, 90, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Mr. Funes was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaudencio Funes and Loretta Funes.

His beloved wife, Hortencia Funes Cantu.

Son Gerardo Funes.

Brothers, Pasqual Funes, Felix Funes, Ildefonso Funes and Juan Funes.

He is survived by his children, Esther Funes, Estela (Alberto) Parado, Hermelinda Camara, Dora (Orlando) Charles, Maria Del Rosario Funes, Victor (Maricela) Funes, Gilberto (Dora) Funes, Alfredo Funes, Gaudencio Funes,Carmen Soto, Josefina Gonzalez, Felix Funes and Lore Funes.

Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sisters, Santa Funes de Magallanes and Maria Funes de Gaucin.

Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.

Following the State Law, visitation will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.

It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a Chapel Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Committal services will be held on a later date.
