JOSE "JOEY" GERARDO. RODRIGUEZ

Jose Gerardo Rodriguez , 40 or Joey as he was known by his family and friends, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Laredo, Texas.

"Joey" was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He is a graduate of Martin High School "Class of 2005". "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger". He enjoyed life to the fullest, he especially loved all kinds of sports. He will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his  parents Mr. and Mrs. Humberto and Josefina Rodriguez., by his maternal grandparents Pedro and Isabel Martinez, his paternal grandmother. Yolanda Sanchez and by his aunt Rebecca Martinez.

He is survived by his brother, Humberto Rodriguez, Jr.

His nephew, Brian Humberto Rodriguez and by his nieces April Michelle Rodriguez and Marta Marie Rodriguez.

His aunts and uncles, Irma (Juan) Luna, Roberto (Juanita) Martinez, Rosalinda (Victor+) Armenta, Ricardo Martinez, Raquel (Enrique) Mendoza, Adriana  (Primo) Guzman, Elizabeth (Pedro+) Martinez Jr. and Veronica Y. Brondo

Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Esmeralda's  Adult Day Care for all their love, attention and care.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 19, 2023 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Ave. A Liturgy of the Word was officiated by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon in the funeral home chapel before committal services and interment which followed in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Primo J. Guzman, Javier L. Cantu II, Brian H. Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Victor Armenta, Javier Cantu Jr., Manuel Santos and Onecimo Benavidez Jr.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.
