JOSE GONZALEZ Jose Gonzalez, 88, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Gonzalez was born in Austin, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II in which he served with the United States Army up until his Honorable Discharge in 1944. After his tour of duty, he returned to Laredo and later was employed as a maintenance supervisor with Sears Roebuck and Company for many years until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his Loving wife, Maria A. Gonzalez Parents, Bernabe and Fernanda A Gonzalez. Daughter, Rosalinda Elia Gonzalez, Brother, Jesus Manuel Gonzalez and Sister, Rebecca Gonzalez. He is survived by his Children, Jose (Ana Laura) Gonzalez Jr., Ernestina G. (Leroy) Salinas, Irene (Jose Martin) Valenzuela, Jesus Manuel Gonzalez, Bernardo (Rosa Linda) Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez and Rosa Maria Gonzalez. 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren Brother, Abraham Gonzalez. Sisters, Antonia Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez of Bosenberg, Juanita Gonzalez (Ramon Robles). Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
