On Friday, August 26, 2022, Jose "Joe" M. Martinez Jr., beloved husband, brother and uncle, entered eternal rest, in San Antonio, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose M. Martinez Sr. and Rosario C. Martinez. Joe graduated in 1982 from Martin High School and attended Texas A&I Kingsville. Joe worked for many years with Martinez Prudential Insurance and after with Border Abstract and Title Company, as a closing agent. Having worked for many years, in the finance/insurance area, Joe then joined Halliburton and was employed for several years. Joe moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2015, where he worked with Calfrac Oil and Gas Exploration for a short period. Joe began his employment in 2017, with the City of San Antonio VIA Metropolitan Transit System, where he met the love of his life, Linda Dye.

Joe was an amazing cook and loved to bake many pastries. He also loved "cook-outs" and spending time with his family. Joe was known by his beloved cousins as "Boy" and will forever be cherished.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, sisters; Roxanne (Tony) Vedia, Rosie (Stephen) Matthews and brother Marco (Cynthia) Martinez, nieces; Vanessa Matthews, Victoria and Valerie Matthews, Clarissa (Julian) Sanchez, nephews, Rolando A. and Andy Vedia and Daniel (Jackie) Gutierrez, fur babies; Scottie, Blue, Honey and Baby.

Also surviving are numerous cousins and friends.

Joe's "Celebration of Life" was held in a private ceremony on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
