Obituary

JOSE MARIO SANCHEZ SR.
Jose Mario Sanchez Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Mr. Sanchez was born and raised in Laredo and was a veteran of the United States Army where he was Honorably Discharged.
He worked for HEB for 20 years until his retirement.
His passion was spending time with family and cooking out. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR races. He also loved dancing "Cumbias".
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Altagracia Garcia.
Mother, Isabel Sanchez and his granddaughter, Cristina I. Serna.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years of marriage, Guadalupe P. Sanchez.
Children, Jose M. (Teresa) Sanchez Jr., Sandra (Eduardo) Serna, Veronica (Jorge) Lopez, Rolando and Elsa Sanchez.
Grandchildren, Jose Mario III, Stephanie (Raul Lopez) and Kassandra Sanchez, Eduardo Jr. and Michelle Guadalupe Serna, Jorge Lopez Jr., and Rhianna, Gabriella and Toby Morales Jr.
Great-grandchildren, Briella Marie Lopez and Adelynn Cristina Serna.
In-laws, Oscar and Margie Noriega, Lilia (Ramon+) Peña and Guadalupe (Roberto+) Paredes.
Also surviving him are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
