JOSE L. MENDOZA

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Jose L. Mendoza passed away peacefully surrounded by his sisters and his nephew (Arnoldo) after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on March 21, 1948 in Laredo, Texas where he grew up then he moved to San Antonio and later to Houston, Texas where he lived. He liked helping people, had an infectious smile and a compassionate spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Enemencio and Ofelia Mendoza, his sons, baby Alfonso Mendoza and Jonathan Mendoza.

He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia (Jose Juan) Rocha, Estela (Felix) Flores, Griselda (Reynaldo) Collazo, his grandchildren, Benjamin and Levi Mendoza, his daughter in law, Erika Mendoza and his Ex wife, Carolyn Davila Mendoza. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful team of Generous Hospice for the care of Mr. Mendoza. They would also like to thank Mary Lou Haidnick for his care while he was in Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernard Ave . A Chapel service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2022. Committal services will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
