Jose R. Peña's Obituary
JOSE R. PEÑA
On May 26th, 2020, our Heavenly Father called Jose R. Peña, beloved husband, father and grandfather, into eternal rest. He was 75 years old.
Mr. Peña was born in Nuevo Laredo,Mexico and was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 49 years of marriage, Elisa Peña Cardenas.
Children, Norma E. Salazar (Felix Vasquez), Jose Peña Jr. (Lydia Peña), Edna L. Peña (Michael A. Martinez), Eilyana D. Peña and Erika Y. Peña-Villafranca (Juan Jose Villafranca).
9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 25 % of capacity inside our funeral home.
It is preferred that minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez,
Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
A Liturgy of the Word, officiated by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon, will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will be held on a later date.
