JOSE F. RANGEL

Jose F. Rangel, "El Pollon", 82, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Apr. 2, 2017, in Laredo, Texas, with his loved ones by his side.

Mr. Rangel was born in Laredo, TX on 12/30/1934 to Apolonia and Jesus Rangel. He was a strong willed, hardworking man who might have been rough around the edges but he'd always make you smile. During his golden years he enjoyed working on his yard and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bertha Rangel, his parents, Jesus and Apolonia Rangel; brother, Reynaldo Rangel, sister Viola Garcia, Maria Irma Pena; Daughter Alma Rosa Lopez, Eloisa Rangel; Grandson Matthew Rebeles.

He is survived by his children, Rachel Castillo, Jose Rangel Jr and Rebecca Rangel; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

On behalf of the Rangel family, we would like to give our greatest gratitude to Nurses on Wheels and Main Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care of our grandfather while he was in their care.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aril 6, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
