JOSE GENEROSO "GENE" SALAZAR Jose Generoso "Gene" Salazar, 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at a local hospital. Mr. Salazar was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Salazar. Grandson, Master Marcos Daniel Salazar. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Salazar. Children, Sandra (Arturo) Moncivais, Sergio (Gloria) Salazar, Edmundo Salazar, Sonia Salazar (Jose O. Barrientos), Sylvia (Oscar) Aguilar and Samuel Salazar. 20 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren Sister, Juanita Guerrero. Also numerous other relatives and many friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Maurice Click and his staff for all their support, attention and care they have provided Mr. Salazar. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
