JOSE VIDALES SR. Jose Vidales, Sr., 76, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Vidales was born in Rodriguez, Nuevo Leon Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of his life. Mr. Vidales was the proud owner of Laredo Sanitary Supplies serving Laredo and local areas for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 59 and he was the Chaplain of The Lulac Council 12. His family was one of the original Founding families, the Uribe family of Laredo and Zapata. He was served his nation during the Korean Conflict with the United States Air Force 4080th service squad, he was honorably discharged in 1962. He is preceded by his parents, Felix and Adela Vidales. Also by his wife of over 40 years of marriage, Angelina Vidales. Sister, Antonia Ortiz. He is survived by his children, Jose Vidales, Jr., Juana Vidales and Mrs. Guadalupe (Aurelio) Mendez. Grandchildren, Jose Vidales, III., Aurelio Jesus Mendez and Nayeli Mendez. Sister, Carolina Hernandez. Nieces and Nephews, Tony Ortiz, Patricia Silva, Reyes Hernandez, Marina Garcia, Maria Hernandez, Norma Hernandez, Yvonne Espinoza, Andrea Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez and Raquel Hernandez. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin with A Liturgy of the Word being held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will then follow the service in the Laredo City Cemetery.
