JOSEFA G.CASTANEDA Josefa G. Castaneda 87, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013. Mrs. Castaneda was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her son, Armando Castaneda who passed away on July 19, 2006. Her parents: Leonides Guerra and Angelita Gonzalez Guerra. Her grandson: Rolando Alvarez, III. Her daughters-in-law: Feliciana Castaneda and Guadalupe Castaneda. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years of marriage Gregorio Castaneda, Jr. Children: Emma C. Vasquez, Oscar (Nelda) Castaneda, Gregorio Castaneda III and Irma Morrow. Grandchildren: Emily Vasquez, Oscar Castaneda, Celina Castaneda, Raul Castaneda, Erica (Mariano)Nieto, Laura Castaneda, Miguel Castaneda, Gregorio Ivan Castaneda, Valerie Morrow, Monique Morrow and Numerous great grandchildren. Brother and sister: Maria Soto, Eliseo (Esperanza) Guerra. Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m., Wednesday morning, October 30, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
