JOSEFA D. MENDOZA

Josefa D. Mendoza, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Mrs. Mendoza was born in Lampazos, N.L., Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. Our mother liked flowers, road trips and enjoyed jewelry. She loved to go to the ranch and spend nights outdoors. She always packed the truck with food and was prepared for all trips. You name it, we had it with us on the road. Our mother was also a good cook. The neighbors always came around when my mom cooked tamales and menudo to place an order even though she wasn't selling it but she would sell them some. She also made delicious heladitos and raspas. Our mother was always well dressed and people knew her as "La Señora de los collares. Siempre bien guapa." She will be dearly missed.

Also surviving her are 11 great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS: Eddie Soto, Frankie Soto, Victor Rodriguez, Joe Rodriguez, Joey Perez, Misael Mendoza, Eloy Mendoza and Daniel Perez.
