Josefina Barrera, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Pleasanton, Texas. Mrs. Barrera was born in Asherton, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for sometime and later moved to Jourdanton, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Benancia Perez. Brothers, Antonio Perez and Alfredo Perez. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Arturo E. Barrera of Jourdanton, Texas. Son, Arturo (Bertha) Barrera, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas. Grandchildren, Sergio Barrera, Jorge (Teresa) Barrera, Patricia Barrera and Carlos (Eunice) Barrera. Great-grandchildren, Danielle Plunkett, Gabriel Barrera, Julian "J.J." Barrera and Araceli Barrera. Siblings, Andres (Irma) Perez, Jr., Santos (+Pedro) Saavedra, Rosa (Ruben) De Leon, Elena (Refugio) Godina, Leonor (Genaro) Rodriguez and Margarita Lara. Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
