JOSEFINA V. ORTIZ Josefina V. Ortiz, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Ortiz was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro M. Ortiz who passed away in 1993. Daughter, Sara O. Santillan. Brothers, Pete Vega, Salome Vega and Amado Vega. Sisters, Maria Luisa Garibay and Maria Magdalena Ornelas. Grandson, Pedro Angel Ortiz, III. She is survived by her daughters and son, Rosalinda (Alejandro) Garcia, Ana Maria Ortiz, Esperanza Bustamante, Laura Valls and Pedro (Kosset) Ortiz, Jr. 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 30, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
