Obituary

JOSEFINA "CHINA" PEÑA

Josefina "China" Peña, 99, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Mrs. Peña was born in San Rafael Ranch in Webb County and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

"Nuestra Madre fue una mujer ejemplar y muy dedicada a su familia. Nos duele decir adios, pero encontramos consuelo en los maravillosos momentos y recuerdos que compartimos juntos."

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eralio Peña.
Grandson, Joseph Peña.
Parents, Jose Lopez and Celia Lopez.
Parents who raised her, Valentin and Inez Rocha.
Brothers, Valentin Rocha Jr., Juan Rocha, Jose Maria Rocha, Benito Rocha, Felix Rocha, Felipe Rocha, Gabriel Rocha and Adan Rocha.
Sister, Teresa De Leon.
Daughter in Law, Becca Peña.
She is survived by her children, Gilberto (Maria) Peña, Armando (Alma) Peña, Janie (Javier) Corona and Diana (Rodolfo) Hinojosa.
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Sisters, Eva De Leon and Hortencia Hernandez.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 27, 2024 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . A religious service was held in the funeral home chapel before committal services and interment which followed at the Laredo City Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Rodolfo Hinojosa, Rodolfo Hinojosa II, Javier Corona Jr., Richard J. Peña, Gerardo Rodriguez and Richard A. Peña.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Gilberto Peña and Armando Peña.
