Josue Fernando Rivera, 27, "Josh" as he was know to his friends and family passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Rivera was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident.
He was very involved with his church and its members of First Assembly of God, even so, he became a youth leader. He made it his mission to mentor and educate youngsters. "Josh" was also working on his Masters Degree at TAMIU. It was his duty as a cultural architect to redirect youth to a better life.
He is survived by his Mother, Ruby Negrete.
Father, Alfonso (Lizette) Rivera Jr.
Siblings, Alfonso (Naila) Rivera III, Jaime Andres (Monseratt) Rivera, Kathleen Estelle Rivera and Jonathan Alfonso Rivera.
Nieces and nephews, Isabella Rae Rivera, Andrew Nicolas Rivera, Lee Addai Villalon and Ethan Jay Gabriel Rivera.
His fur niece, Hanna.
Also surviving him are numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Josue's Family encourages for those in attendance to wear green and black to honor Josue's memory.
Although flowers are beautiful, the Family wishes for donations to be made on his behalf to Laredo First Assembly of God Church Youth Ministries and the Baptist student Ministries at TAMIU.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the
Laredo
First Assembly of God Church, 6103 N. McPherson Road.
A Religious Service will be officiated at 7:00 p.m. by Pastor Jonathan Rivas at the First Assembly of God Church. Committal services will be held on a later date.
