Obituary

JUAN V. GALVAN JR.
Juan V. Galvan Jr., 76, passed away on Monday, May 8th, 2017.
Mr. Galvan was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
He was a graduate of Martin High School (1960) and had been employed with Southern Enterprises, for the past 41 years. Mr. Galvan dedicated his life to his wife, 3 daughters, his grandchildren and all of his family. He was a simple, humble, and gentle man who, besides his love and passion for his family, enjoyed his job to the fullest. Our Daddy was our Superman and he will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Juan and Guadalupe V. Galvan.
Parents-In-Law, Homero and Maria De Los Angeles De Los Santos.
His beloved grandson, Lorenzo Armando Mendoza.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years of marriage, Rosa Maria Galvan.
Daughters, Diana Galvan Mendoza, Rosa M. (Ricardo Jesus) Flores and Dora Galvan.
Grandchildren, Jorge Andres Borrego, Emilio Eloy Mendoza, Rebecca Flores, Julissa Flores, Matthew Cevyn Smith, Michael Kipling Smith, Ricardo "Pappas" Flores, Favyolli (Nena) Flores and Zachary Hudson Smith.
Brothers, Carlos (Tomasa) Galvan and Jesus "Chuy" (Olivia) Galvan.
In-Laws, Romelia (Juan) Ortega, Tina (Raul+) Garza, Homero (Belem) De Los Santos, Yolanda (Hector) Franco and Lupita (Roberto) Dominguez.
Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
The Galvan Family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to CIMA Hospice, especially, Nurse - Anabel Saldaña, for giving Dad the best care and for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
