Obituary

JUAN Z. RODRIGUEZ
Juan Z. Rodriguez, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017, in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by his family.
Juan, known as Chacho by all his family and friends, was born in Laredo, Texas, and had been a lifelong resident.
His passions were carpentry, going to the movies and spending quality time with family and friends.
Mr. Rodriguez graduated from Martin High School in 1958.  He obtained a Bachelors of Science in
Secondary Education from Texas A&I University at Laredo and a Master's of Science in Education from
Laredo State University.  He began his career with LISD teaching at Daiches Elementary School.  In 1986,
he became an Assistant Principal at Katherine Tarver Elementary for 17 years, until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents Juan T. and Agustina P. Rodriguez, brother, Jose Maria Rodriguez,
in-laws, Eulalio and Petra Rocha and brother in-law Raul Rocha.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia R. Rodriguez; his children, Laura M. Rodriguez, Patricia
(Fernando) Lopez, Lydia T. (Jose Luis) Palacios, Liza V. Rodriguez and Juan Daniel (Alicia) Rodriguez.  His
sister Maria Victoria Rodriguez and brother Oscar (Ana) Martinez.  He had 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
On behalf of the family, they would like to thank Cheryl McClure, the Nursing Staff of IC Unit at Doctor's Hospital, Dr. Adonis
Zuniga-Goldwater and Dr. Benson Huang.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7:00 p.m.
at Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo. Funeral services will begin departing
the funeral home chapel at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017.  Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jude
Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
