Julia Hernandez, aged 91, peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, embraced by the love of her devoted family.

Born and raised in the warm embrace of Laredo, Texas, Julia dedicated her life to the noble calling of Nursing with The Sisters of Mercy. Her gentle spirit and unwavering commitment touched countless lives.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tranquilino M. Hernandez and Cecilia Buentello de Hernandez, her cherished sister, Martha Trevino, who passed away in 2022, and her dear brother, Tranquilino Hernandez Jr.

She leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by her step-daughter, Aide Diaz Manrique, and family, her niece Maria Isabel Ibarra, her sister Gloria Ibarra, along with numerous relatives and friends who will long remember her generous heart.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. A Liturgy of the Word will be led by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon at 11:00 a.m. Committal services and interment are planned for a later date.
