LEON BUTANDA

Leon Butanda, 102, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Butanda was born in Mexico but had been a lifelong resident of Laredo.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years if marriage, Alicia Butanda who passed away on September 19, 2016, by his son Sergio Butanda, by his daughter Jackie Guzman, his parents Enrique Butanda and Felicia Barron De Butanda and by numerous of his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children; +Sergio Butanda, Feliza (+Eloy) Juarez, Dora B. Ybarra, Maria De La Luz De La Rosa, Rosa Almanza, Enrique Butanda, +Jackie (Alberto) Guzman and Maria Teresa (Mario) Robles.

His (18) grandchildren, (36) great-grandchildren and (1) great-great grandchild.

Also surviving him are (1) brother, (2) sisters, numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave . Holy Mass was celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Committal Services and interment then followed at  the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Luis Ybarra, Edgar Robles, Juan De La Rosa, Diego Robles, Leo Cabriales, Jaime Guzman, Albert Guzman Jr. and Valentin Ayala.
