Lorenzo O. Medina

Lorenzo O. Medina, 91, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at a local hospital.

Mr. Medina was born on September 5, 1929 in Islitas, TX and was a long time resident of Laredo, Texas. He worked as a heavy equipment operator all his life. He was a quiet man who loved working in his yard with his many plants and spending time with his family. Mr. Medina spent many of his afternoons giving out limes to the families and children that would pass by his house.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Fernanda Medina, his brothers: Carlos Medina, Inez Medina, Felipe Medina, Cresenciano Medina, Francisco Medina and William Eggers.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Medina and his children, Jaime (Diana) Medina, Raquel Medina, Minerva (Daniel) Torres, Lorenzo Medina Jr. and Griselda (Alejandro) Gonzalez.

Also survived by his grandchildren: Marili Medina, David (Kate) Medina, Jhon (Adriana) Torres, Kassandra (Nixon) Urbanczyk, Isaiah Torres, Jamee Medina, Eli Gonzalez, Martel Gonzalez, Matthew Medina, and 4 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by numerous relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, John Torres, Isaiah Torres, Eli Gonzalez, Matthew Medina, Martel Gonzalez and David Medina.

Mr. Medina will be greatly missed, but will at last be joining his brothers under the tree at the end of the melon row.

Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitations will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.

It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
